Deltus now freed from community service decides to join the party and venture out to locate the last missing constable. Meanwhile, David continues to assist the town in fortifying the defense while Anaris spent time getting to know his hawk familiar.
The party make their way towards the goblin encampment they discovered several days earlier but is surprised to find only a handful of goblins at the encampment. The party assessed the situation, finding it strangely amiss. Allen tried to climb on top of a tree but slipped and fell, crashing on to the forest floor snapping branches and twigs. This alerted the goblins to the party presence and the goblins quickly ran into their crudely constructed huts and hid inside.
Bryseis stepped forth to investigate followed by Zain. Bryseis strode into the encampment and found the goblin grinning maliciously. "We been waiting for you..." And the goblin took out a warhorn, blowing it. Brief moments later, dozen of goblins emerged from the thick undergrowth surrounding the party.
The goblins outnumbering the party and ambushing them, consider the odds in their favor and initially refused to retreat. The party valiantly dispatched the goblins and injured the goblin boss. This forced the goblin boss to reconsider the odds and he fled from the field of battle while his followers battled the party.
Allen, took off after the goblin boss determined not to let him get away. Firing arrows after arrows until the goblin boss turned into a pin cushion. While Allen was preoccupied with the goblin boss, the odds turned against the party. Bryseis, Zain and Deltus was eventually cut down by the goblin minions. Before the goblins could finish off the party, Allen returned to save his the party from certain death. But one goblin fled from the battle while Allen was preoccupied with resuscitating the party.
The party then searched the encampment thoroughly and eventually found a refuse pit. There they found the rotting corpse of a town constable. Wrapping it in a blanket the party, returned to the town. The stench of decay attracted a tall lanky and savage looking humanoid creature. Bryseis clever use of dissonant whispers created some distance and the party eventually manage to flee from the monster.
Returning to town bruised and tired, the party retreated to take a rest. Deltus earlier learned from Reverend Anthony that the town had trouble with an Arcane Practitioner. The Arcane Practitioner ventured into the mausoleum and a few days later. The dead relatives of the towns folk began to rise as zombies. As a result, the mayor had to close off the mausoleum and station two constables there to ward off visitors.
With promise of a reward, the party including Anaris, decides to venture into the mausoleum. As they venture in they witness embalmed relatives of the towns folk rising to meet them as zombies. The zombies were particularly resilient but nonetheless the party dispatched the zombies and continued deeper into the mausoleum to rid the place of the walking dead.... to be continued...
