The party rests for a night at Captain Weyland's military camp while the Captain musters his forces. The next morning, the party along with a small platoon of men lead by Lieutenant Isilod Tintagel marches towards the town of Farswell.
Along the way, the party came across several bandits accosting the traveling merchant they met before in the Towns of Farswell. Zain and Allen quickly rode forth and foiled the plans of the bandits. Allen recognizing one of the bandits from his past, and crippled him with his precise aim.
Eventually the rest of the party and the soldiers caught up and the remaining bandits who were not slain in battle were swiftly arrested. Lt. Isilod assigns five of his men-at-arms to escort the traveling merchant to the military camp, while they press on their journey towards Farswell.
As the party approaches Farswell, they catch sight of smoke billowing at the distance and suspected the worst. Rushing into the townsquare. The party witness the town on high alert. Peasants grabbing their farming tools, pitch forks and spades and rushing towards North and East across the bridge. Bryseis quickly grabbed hold of a passing peasant and asked him what has happen. The peasant, eyes wide with fear, shouted, "Goblins! We are under attack by the goblins! Please you have to help us".
Lt Isilod decides to take control of the situation and led his men towards the north to repel the goblins. While the party heads east across the bridge towards the outskirts of the town to repel the goblins that are attacking from another direction.
As the party arrived at the outskirts, they see a throng of goblins. Several with their scimitars drawn running at full speed towards the palisades. The rest loaded their shortbows with arrows and approached methodically. Behind the palisades, stood a several constables and militiamen ready to defend their town from the goblin invasion. Leading the defenders was David Valorous, a native of Farswell and companion of the party.
The party rode forward and joined in the battle. One by one the goblins fell to the combined efforts of the town defenders, the party and the soldiers that arrived to aid Farswell. But there were more goblins, wave upon wave crashed upon the defenders and eventually overran their positions.
Scores of soldiers and constables laid dead on the outskirts of the town. As goblins surge forward through the opening and tore at the party.
At the north side of the town, the goblins fighting against Lt Isilod appears to be faltering.
The Empire Officer sensing the goblin's strength is faltering at North side of the town, left his sergeant to lead his remaining men and personally rode eastwards across the bridge with three of his riflemen to check on the party.
When they arrived, the goblins had sent in Worg riders to flank the defenders. The defensive line has completely collapsed. Cursing under his breath and regretting why he had not dispatched more soldiers with the party. The Lt fearlessly rode into battle and clashed with a group of goblins and a riderless worg.
Meanwhile, the goblin battle leader lead another of his worg rider and charged towards Allen. The hated Wood Elf has slain many of his kind over the past few days and he is determined to slay the Elven Ranger. Yelling over the top of his voice, he commanded the rest of his archers to take out the Ranger. Arrows sped towards Allen, severely wounding the Wood Elf. The remaining worg riders charged towards Anaris. The fearsome bite of the worgs tore into Anaris and leaving him mortally wounded.
The defensive line at the outskirts collapsed entirely, with every party member being cut off from one another. Deltus retreated from the frontline and headed towards Allen. Calling upon his divine magic to heal Allen. But it was not enough. The continuous attack finally brought Allen down.
Elsewhere Zain, retreated from combat to chug a healing potion while David, Bryseis and Constable Terry continue to fend for their lives. Trappers Joe & Harvey seeing the party in terrible shape, finally muster their courage to help the party. They were joined by Constables Harry and Larry who rushed forward and cut down the worg that was wounded by Anaris earlier on.
The goblins outnumbering the defenders continued to fight on, eventually took down Constable Larry. The goblin battle leader, seeing the hated Elf Wizard on his feet again, rode towards him to strike down the Anaris. Deltus bravely stood infront to intercept the attack. After a grueling battle, the goblin battle leader was finally dispatched by the combined efforts of Deltus, Anaris and Trapper Joe.
One by one the goblin's heavy hitters begin to fell, the remaining goblins surveyed the field of battle. Realizing that there were far more dead goblins compared to the defenders and they quickly fled from the battle. Zain riding his horse quickly gave chase, while Bryseis, David and Anaris tried cutting down those that fled.
As Zain crest over the hills, they catch sight of a much bigger force of goblins at the horizon. At forefront was a much taller humanoid with goblin like features, slick black hair combed back. Behind him another hooded humanoid in black robes. The goblin like humanoid affixes his gaze at Zain and expression is that of rage and anger. He then raised his hands and gestures behind. With that motion, the remaining goblins turn their backs towards the town of Farswell and retreated back into the forest. Zain pulled the reins of his horse and stopped his horse from going further.
The party now regrouped together, realizes that they have managed to rout the goblin invasion force. For now, victory is theirs and they have a moment to rest and recuperate.
